My Japanese Film Hut |
< DE > |
I am fascinated by the fleeting nature of my memories. Perceptions, images, sounds disappear, catch up with me again, awaken associations and dreams. The media installation is a space for collected observations of my past stays in Japan, personal notes from a fascinating world.
Based on the concept of film huts created by Agnès Varda, whom I admire greatly, I combine the materials wood, film strips, video image and sound together. The film strips dissolve perception into individual film stills and lead to the photographic gaze. The moving video is dissolved in blur and slow motion, the sound creates the atmosphere of movement. The film hut can be entered, time and space flow under your feet.
